Claremont Medical Centre is located in an award winning art deco building. Built in 1940 as The Highway Hotel and later The Coronado Hotel, the building was refurbished to became a medical centre. Claremont Medical Centre opened in 2000 to provide healthcare to the local community. In 2002 Claremont Medical Centre won the prestigious Art Deco Society Award for “Best refurbishment of a heritage listed building”, and in 2004 won the Town of Claremont “Civic Design Award 2004 for Best adaptation of a heritage place'.
